Pyrovia runs a 100-tonne-per-day, low-temperature pyrolysis facility in Slovakia that turns PVC-free mixed plastic waste — the fraction mechanical recyclers reject — into synthetic oil, industrial carbon, and syngas, with the plant generating its own electricity along the way.
Thermolysis breaks plastic down with heat, not oxygen — a difference that shows up directly in the emissions.
Thermolysis runs at 400–600°C with no oxygen present, so the material breaks down thermally instead of burning — avoiding the dioxins, furans, and heavy metals incineration releases into the air. Feedstock is PVC-free mixed plastic only.
About 70% of mixed plastic waste converts to synthetic oil — the rest becomes carbon and the plant's own power.
Equipment, intellectual property, and capital sit with three separate parties by design — no single party controls the whole stack.
